16-year-old Nena may seem like an average teenager with divorced parents. The thing is that ever since her father ended up in a wheelchair, he’s been losing the will to live. They have a loving and deep relationship. Together they solve philosophical puzzles, swim, and play chess, yet Nena is constantly tackling her father’s cynicism, nihilism, and gradually rising despair of life. At the same time, this is the period when Nena falls in love for the first time. She’s torn between her father’s suicidal tendencies and the marvellous feelings of first love, trying to figure out the essence of life.
